On the steps of City Hall this week, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer led a rally to raise awareness about Sexual Violence.
51 community partners joined the Denim Day rally including non-profits, city agencies and colleges and youth groups. City Hall, April 23, 2014
“It’s not just women who are victims. 1 in 71 men report being raped at some point in their lives, so just like women men face a terrible stigma.”
The occasion -- Denim Day. The theme this year -- Empowering Men to Speak Out Against Sexual Violence.
As WBAI's Linda Perry reports, participants at the rally say attitude shifts and systemic changes are needed.
