Synopsis:

In this week’s segment we hear about events in the West African nation Guinea-Bissau, a disputed election and a so-called coup that was actually carried out on behalf of the president. But first I discussed my contribution to the new anthology, China Changes Everything, failed efforts to contain China’s power and connections with U.S. policies.

I was recently a guest on the Jamarl Thomas Youtube Channel and we discussed my contribution to the new anthology China Changes Everything. My chapter is entitled China Cannot Be Contained and here are excerpts of our conversation in which we discuss not only this topic presented in the book, but its connection to U.S. international and domestic policy.

The West African nation Guinea-Bissau recently experienced an aborted electoral process followed by what was called a coup d’etat. But the reality differs from the narrative presented by the neo-colonial western backed state. We're joined by Imani Umoja of the PAIGC (African Party of Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde), the All-African People's Revolutionary Party, the steering committee of the Black Alliance for Peace US Out of Africa Network, and a member of the coordination council of the West African People's Organization. We spoke just days after the disputed election and military action that was taken on behalf of the illegitimate president.
